Our rooms showed some signs of canine damage. The rules are that all dogs must be kenneled while left alone in the room. The exit to the doggie relief area is on the first floor near the pool and just a quick elevator ride down. House keeping will deliver bowls, treats and a pack of poop bags to your room. Odd number rooms have a view of the roof, air conditioning units, and other eye sore items. If you get the even number rooms your view includes the street and nice mountain views. They have LVP flooring and ours was a bit sticky feeling. Harrah’s charges a $75 non refundable deposit for these rooms. These rooms are also smoking rooms so be aware.

Pet Rooms – The pet rooms are located on the 3rd floor of the Soco Tower. These shops are similar to the many shops in other Harrah’s casinos outside of Vegas. Shopping – An escalator ride will take you up to the second floor above the casino where the small shopping area, Brio restaurant, and the buffet are located. There are separate free parking garages for the hotel and casino or there’s an outside parking lot. The water feature with balcony and digital screens at the main entrance is jaw dropping when one enters from these doors. We like to sit in the Adirondack chairs, drink coffee, and watch the rambling stream below. One of our favorite spots on the resort is the patio outside the lobby coffee shop which features Starbucks coffee. We visited the new facilities at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley in Murphy, NC for a fun evening but not the one at this resort. A newly added UltraStar Multi-Tainment Center includes a bowling alley and arcade games for the family to enjoy. Resort – The grounds include nicely landscaped walking paths throughout the property and along the stream for leisure walks, fishing, or a visit to the dog area. Be forewarned, there are few alternate routes. We generally use the WAZE app for traffic information. The intersection of I-26 and I-40 in Asheville, NC backs up in both directions regularly. Getting to Cherokee – There can be traffic delays from road construction and general traffic congestion. There’s everything from white water rafting or kayaking to visiting Dollywood or the Biltmore. There is a wide variety of activities available in the surrounding area to make this a sensational vacation spot for the entire family. The surrounding area is some of the most scenic landscape in the southeast United States and is convenient to both I-40 and I-26. The property is built along a beautiful mountain stream with the casino on one side and the hotel towers on the other. This fabulous Harrah’s property is a casino owned by the Cherokee Indians and located in Cherokee, North Carolina.
